We currently have an opening for a part time Precious Metals Consultant starting October 2024 in our Bedford, NS location.

Broadside Bullion Inc. is a precious metals broker with annual sales in excess of $15M. We have 2 retails stores in the Maritimes, and an ecommerce web site. We are the largest dealer in Atlantic Canada with a strong reputation for professional and friendly service and great prices.

Opportunity:

This is a rare opportunity to start work in what continues to be a growth business. The economic situation has created an environment where we are seeing high volumes of both buyers and sellers of gold and silver, and we expect this to continue for several years. We are looking for smart, motivated individuals with good mathematical skills who are interested in working in this exciting area ! Start date will be October 2024. Complete training will be provided.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Giving advice to customers on precious metals.
• Booking orders in store and by telephone
• Taking payment for orders
• Valuing scrap jewelry and silverware (full training provided)
• Updating sales systems with accurate & timely information
• Packing and shipping orders
• Some book-keeping and accounting duties
• Following necessary security, risk management and inventory protocols

Necessary skills:

• Trustworthiness
• Accurate with numbers and handling cash
• Competent with spreadsheets and computers.
• Personable with customers

Qualifications & Experience:

Strong math skills are a top priority for this position. Candidates should ideally have some experience in retail sales, or possibly finance, banking, or accounting. A university degree or equivalent is preferrable, but not essential for the right candidate. A good understanding of the reasons for investing in bullion is important, and any experience investing in this area will be highly beneficial. Preference will also be given to applicants who show strong analytical and sound computing skills.

Hours & Pay:

Position will be 4 days per week. Our hours are Monday - Friday from 10am - 5pm

Basic hourly starting salary will be $18.50 - $22.50 (depending on experience) plus personal performance and profit related bonuses, which typically add a further 10%. A raise will be given following successful 3 months probation.
